Monkey Place Creek Shiraz

Why Monkey Place Creek?  Yes, it's an unusual name but it's certainly a pretty darn good drop.  The name does have a story and it goes something like this... Whilst building the first Sydney to Newcastle road, the convicts working on the road gangs saw koalas near the creek that runs by the Mount Eyre vineyard in Broke that produces these gorgeous grapes; having not seen koalas before, their closest guess was that they were monkeys.  Hence the name Monkey Place Creek.

Being a 2013 vintage, this shiraz has had a good time to settle and is currently drinking really well.  It's a vibrant, Hunter shiraz that goes perfectly with pizza, pasta and many other meat dishes.  And, it's great value.  You can order online HERE but be quick as this vintage is not going to be around for long!
