Get your organic on and pay a visit to Macquariedale Organic Wines, now at two great Hunter Valley locations!

In addition to their estate Cellar Door in Rothbury, Macquariedale Organic Wines has just opened the doors to their second Cellar Door in the heart of Pokolbin, on the corner of McDonalds Rd and Pokolbin Mountains Rd.  And, so you can double your organic experience, they’re conveniently located right next to Nanna Kerr’s Kitchen who offer organic snacks, meals and drinks all day.

Our pre-Christmas wanderings this year took us around the vineyards to taste some of the wonderful wines this region has to offer, but this is about food, not wine!  The opening of Ben Ean at the old Lindeman’s site brings with it Baume at Ben Ean; a great place to pop into for lunch whilst touring the vineyards.

Thomas Allen Wines resides on the beautiful Moon Mountain Vineyard on Broke Road, Pokolbin.  Owners Steve and Craig purchased the vineyard in 2009 and with old vines and the perfect aspect, it allows them to produce classic Hunter wine styles from this unique, iconic vineyard.

Producing early ripening, high quality, flavour intense fruit in very limited quantities, Moon Mountain Vineyard, is used in the Mango Tree Chardonnay, The Doctor Cabernet Sauvignon, Old School Shiraz Cabernet and Alasdair Shiraz.

We paid the Inn a visit for lunch and found an extensive menu, with dishes to suit all budgets and a substantial wine list to match.  Team this with friendly, efficient service and a casual warm ambience, what’s not to like?

What a pleasant and delicious way to spend a few hours in the beautiful Hunter Valley. We were treated to lunch at Muse Kitchen, located in the Keith Tulloch Wine Estate where the humble lunch is taken to a whole new level at this stylish, yet relaxed restaurant.
